Interior Designer in Bentonville, AR – Fox and Design

In this interview I sat down with Carly Fox, founder and owner of Fox and Design based in Bentonville, AR.

Carly is an NWA transplant who has been building and running her business in NYC for the past 11 years. She is now in the process of launching a second location in Bentonville, AR.

If you are considering a design update in your home, consider Carly’s modern bespoke interior design skills. She prides herself in turning homes into sanctuaries.

We discussed how her pivot to operating fully online rescued her company from 2020, why she decided to open a new location in NWA, and how and why to work with an interior designer before going directly to a builder.

00:04 – 00:08
Brock

00:08 – 00:12

In NWA and give them more exposure and create more trust in the community.

00:12 – 00:14
Brock
Overall, we want to provide an inside

00:14 – 00:18
Brock
Look to our local business heroes that keep NWA running.

00:18 – 00:23
Brock
My name is Brock Holland, a small business owner in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Founder of 479 Spotlight.

00:23 – 00:30
Brock
Today we have Carly Fox with, Fox and Design based in Bentonville, Arkansas to clarify, if you are gonna look her up…

00:30 – 00:39
Brock
The domain is, fox and design dot com, but our logo will be Fox + Design, and I’ll make sure to have that on the site here on the interview.

00:40 – 00:42
Brock
These interviews typically have two main focuses.

00:42 – 00:58
Brock
First, we’re going to address any potential customers that might want to use Carly’s services, and then we’ll be talking more about Carly’s story from an entrepreneurial perspective, for anyone that might be interested in getting into this, either niche, or just curious about now in the process of becoming a business owner and entrepreneur.

00:59 – 00:59
Brock
Alright, Carly.

01:00 – 01:04
Brock
Let’s start with this – in one sentence: What do you do?

01:04 – 01:05
Carly
What do I do well?

01:05 – 01:07
Carly
I am an interior designer.

01:07 – 01:13
Carly
And I mainly serve busy professionals who are looking to remodel their homes, furnish their homes.

01:14 – 01:16
Carly
I work in living spaces mainly.

01:18 – 01:22
Carly
So, yeah, and I also work with architects, and…

01:23 – 01:25
Carly
commercial and multi-family spaces as well.

01:25 – 01:28
Brock
Ok, fantastic, and how long have you been doing this?

01:29 – 01:37
Carly
So my business has been up and running for about three years, but I’ve been in the design world for over eight.

01:38 – 01:39
Brock
Awesome, awesome, awesome, Awesome.

01:40 – 01:46
Brock
And you kind of already touched on this, but let’s just clarify, again, who exactly do you serve, who would you say is your ideal customer?

01:47 – 01:48
Brock
Let’s get a little deeper.

01:49 – 01:49
Carly
Yeah.

01:49 – 01:59
Carly
So my ideal client tends to be either families or couples, or single’s, that are busy working professionals.

02:00 – 02:05
Carly
So people who are looking, they might have just bought a new house.

02:05 – 02:16
Carly
They need to furnish, they might be looking to remodel, and taking on a project like
that would be a lot to add to their lives with everything else that they have going on.

02:17 – 02:17
Brock
Sure.

02:17 – 02:21
Brock
And that was leading into my next question was basically, you know, what problem are you solving?

02:21 – 02:28
Brock
You’re basically addressing the time constraints, how much effort it takes to do this for these busy professionals and families.

02:28 – 02:29
Brock
Correct?

02:29 – 02:34
Carly
Yeah, And you know, people are surprised once they get into the process.

02:34 – 02:37
Carly
How many decisions have to be made along the way?

02:37 – 02:40
Carly
So sometimes, I call myself a professional decision maker.

02:41 – 02:44
Carly
Because I’m there to guide my clients through that process.

02:45 – 02:51
Carly
But aside from saving people time, there’s also an element of cost.

02:51 – 03:05
Carly
If you don’t work with a professional designer, if you hire a contractor or a builder first, without working with a designer, there are things that you can run into that ends up costing you more in the long run, kind of like avoiding mistakes that are costly.

03:06 – 03:07
Brock
Perfect.

03:08 – 03:10
Brock
Yeah, that’s awesome, That’s a great perspective.

03:10 – 03:14
Brock
Something that you don’t always, always think of just because, you know, someone can do

03:14 – 03:16
Brock
it doesn’t always mean the best person for the job.

03:16 – 03:24
Brock
And this, I’ve got a couple other design friends, and what you’re describing is so true, like, you need to have somebody come in and make sure everything’s laid out.

03:24 – 03:31
Brock
So that that installer or that, you know, construction crew, can come in and actually know exactly what’s going to go where and why.

03:31 – 03:32
Brock
And make sure it’s going to fit.

03:32 – 03:33
Brock
That’s awesome, OK.

03:33 – 03:39
Carly
Yeah, and also just, I want to mention, too, it’s really great for clients to have
someone that’s representing their best interests.

03:39 – 03:48
Carly
Because typically with a builder or a contractor, their main focus is getting it done quickly, and as cheaply as possible.

03:49 – 03:57
Carly
Which often conflicts with the client’s interests, which is they want something that’s a great quality that’s going to last at something that they will love.

03:58 – 04:06
Carly
So, it’s nice to have that third party to kind of balance the power and represent those best interests for the client.

04:07 – 04:08
Brock
Yeah, that’s a great perspective.

04:08 – 04:09
Brock
All right.

04:09 – 04:22
Brock
Well, if somebody in Northwest Arkansas was to be making a decision between maybe, your business, and 2 to 3 others, you know, doing the same thing, why would you suggest that they at least give you a try first?

04:23 – 04:26
Carly
So there are a few things that make me stand out.

04:27 – 04:30
Carly
One of them is that I specialize in custom designs.

04:30 – 04:33
Carly
So I do a lot of built-in …

04:33 – 04:40

Carly
special pieces, like I designed a large brass clock for a non-profit last year.

04:41 – 04:45
Carly
And I don’t I don’t shy away from those really unique custom elements.

04:46 – 04:53
Carly
So that’s one aspect of working with me, that’s different, but also the education that I have.

04:53 – 05:04
Carly
And my background in working with architects gives me the training that you want in a designer when you’re taking on a remodel or working with any tradespeople.

05:06 – 05:11
Carly
You want somebody who can read plans, who can write their own plans.

05:11 – 05:14
Carly
Who knows how to coordinate between tradespeople.

05:15 – 05:20
Carly
Especially when you’re dealing with builders and that sort of thing.

05:20 – 05:21
Brock
Ok.

05:21 – 05:26
Brock
So then after somebody does a project with you, what does their lives look like?

05:28 – 05:30
Brock
You know, after they have used your services?

05:31 – 05:47
Carly
Yeah, so, um, you know, I always dive into how a family or a client lives in their space, and that’s the very, very first thing that I do, because my purpose is giving them a home space.

05:47 – 05:57
Carly
If it’s their home, that is going to make their life easier in the long run, and so it’s not about just looking beautiful, because, for me, that’s kind of a given.

05:57 – 05:59
Carly
It’s going to look beautiful.

06:01 – 06:10
Carly
But that is well thought out and that, you know, for example, your kitchen has been laid out for the way that you cook.

06:12 – 06:16
Carly
Your living room is laid out for your unique scenario.

06:16 – 06:23
Carly
Maybe you worked from home, maybe you have kids, but you have to keep an eye on, um, who knows everybody’s different.

06:23 – 06:33
Carly
So, what I want my clients to take away, or what I want them to experience when they’re done with me, is just that: their lives have become that much easier and better.

06:35 – 06:36
Brock
Awesome, that’s perfect.

06:37 – 06:49
Brock
So kinda along the same lines, do you have any tips or advice for someone that maybe is thinking, Hey, I can do a design project, you know, on my own, or maybe they are considering, you know, hiring somebody?

06:51 – 06:55
Brock
The point is somebody says, I’ve gotta do something with my house, I want to do some design stuff.

06:55 – 06:58
Brock
What tips or advice would you offer them to get them started on the right foot?

06:59 – 07:09
Carly
Well, I would say, try to hire a designer first before you go to a contractor or a painter or a builder, for the reasons I’ve already mentioned.

07:09 – 07:23
Carly
But just getting someone on your team that can help guide the whole process because even budget, you know, some of those beginning elements are tough to figure out on your own when you don’t have the experience or the knowledge.

07:23 – 07:28
Carly
So, I would say hire a designer first and then do it as soon as possible.

07:29 – 07:33
Carly
Because right now, we’re just seeing crazy lead times.

07:34 – 07:38
Carly
For furniture, we’re seeing huge demand on lumber and other materials.

07:41 – 07:47
Carly
In order to have to end up with something that you love and that’s well thought out, it takes an investment of time.

07:47 – 07:49
Carly
So the sooner you can get started, the better.

07:50 – 07:51
Brock
Ok.

07:51 – 07:52
Brock
That’s great advice.

07:52 – 08:00
Brock
I know what you’re talking about too, you know, builders in the space and supplies getting tight and costs are increasing, so…

08:00 – 08:01
Brock
Yeah, definitely sooner the better.

08:02 – 08:03
Brock
All right, awesome.

08:03 – 08:06
Brock
Well, how can someone buy your services?

08:06 – 08:07
Brock
How do they get in contact with you?

08:08 – 08:18
Carly
So, you can visit my website and on the contact portion of my website, there’s a place where you can sign up for a free call with me and that’s the first step with getting started.

08:19 – 08:23
Carly
Yeah, we’ll have a Zoom call and get to know one another…

08:23 – 08:25
Carly
find out if we’re a good fit.

08:26 – 08:32
Carly
And then, of course, I’ll go through my process and all of that and hear about their project as well.

08:34 – 08:36
Carly
You can sign up on my website.

08:38 – 08:39
Carly
Should I say the web address?

08:39 – 08:40
Brock
Yeah, absolutely.

08:41 – 08:48
Carly
It’s Fox and Design dot com, FOX AND DESIGN dot com.

08:48 – 08:49
Brock
Nice.

08:49 – 08:56
Brock
So go on there, get a free call, consultation, and we’re talking off site consultation, right?

08:56 – 08:57
Brock
That’s our first step.

08:57 – 09:00
Carly
Yeah, just meet over Zoom and to learn more.

09:02 – 09:02
Brock
Awesome.

09:02 – 09:03
Carly
That’s right.

09:04 – 09:04
Brock
That’s great.

09:04 – 09:11
Brock
Alright, well, let’s make a shift here in the interview and let’s take a look at just your life, and kinda how you got here.

09:11 – 09:13
Brock
This is what I would say is my favorite part.

09:14 – 09:16
Brock
So, what made you want to start this business?

09:17 – 09:21
Carly
Well, I’ve always wanted to start my own business.

09:21 – 09:26
Carly
I think, ever since I was a little girl, it was always part of my vision that I would have my own business someday.

09:27 – 09:35
Carly
I’m not sure if that’s just the example that my dad set, because he started his own business when I was around high school age.

09:36 – 09:39
Carly
Or, if it was just kind of that bug, you know, this stuff, people get.

09:40 – 09:43
Carly
Sure, but I’ve always kind of walked my own path.

09:43 – 09:49
Carly
I’ve actually never held a standard, full-time, 40 hour a week job.

09:50 – 09:54
Carly
Um, I’ve always mixed the things that I want to do.

09:54 – 09:58
Carly
I’m a creative person, I started out actually in dance and then performing arts.

09:59 – 10:10
Carly
So, yeah…So owning my own business was something that I wanted, and then when I I went to design school, and really fell in love with architecture and interior design.

10:10 – 10:13
Carly
I knew that eventually, I would do this.

10:13 – 10:20
Brock
And what was the toughest thing that you went through when you were trying to get your business off the ground, just getting started?

10:22 – 10:23
Carly
Actually, I’ve been through a few tests.

10:25 – 10:34
Carly
Yeah, so the first one was, I went through a really traumatic and unexpected divorce right at the beginning of starting my own business.

10:34 – 10:40
Carly
And then the next most difficult thing would be COVID, It would be 2020.

10:41 – 10:41
Carly
And that was…

10:42 – 10:44
Brock
Definitely gonna come up later, but let’s talk about it now, bring it up.

10:45 – 10:52
Carly
Yeah, so that paired with the choice to leave New York City and move to Northwest Arkansas in the middle of it.

10:53 – 11:03
Carly
Moving a service based business from the place that I had lived for the last 11 years, and developed all my connections to a totally new location, where I knew no one.

11:05 – 11:08
Carly
So, those are the three main, big challenges that I’ve been through.

11:09 – 11:10
Carly
And I was thinking about what…

11:11 – 11:13
Carly
What helped me get through each of those.

11:15 – 11:20
Carly
And what’s interesting is, I will say that I’ve worked with two business coaches. And that was fantastic.

11:21 – 11:22
Carly
I’m really glad that I did that.

11:23 – 11:30
Carly
But I think keeping my connection with family and friends has been essential.

11:30 – 11:35
Carly
Remembering that, like, my business is not everything, right?

11:35 – 11:37
Carly
And that I don’t live for my business.

11:39 – 11:51
Carly
And keeping those relationships strong, and prioritizing them, despite everything
else, really has, I think, allowed me to keep going.

11:51 – 11:55
Brock
I was going to ask if there was any one person, product or service that made a huge…

11:55 – 12:01
Brock
you know positive shift, but you’ve mentioned family had a couple of business coaches Anything you want to add to that?

12:03 – 12:15
Carly
I think that that covers it. Yeah, I would say if I’m picking one person, probably my mother. Because she’s the one that I can pick up the phone and call it anytime.

12:15 – 12:16
Brock
Always in your corner.

12:17 – 12:19
Carly
Yeah, yeah, so it’s really nice to have that.

12:20 – 12:24
Brock
So if you could start over from day one…

12:24 – 12:26
Brock
Is there anything that you would do differently?

12:31 – 12:33
Brock
I mean, besides taking away COVID.

12:34 – 12:34
Carly
Yeah.

12:34 – 12:36
Brock
Yeah, I’m talking about you know, anything you can control.

12:39 – 12:46
Carly
I mean, I would say, having a better understanding of where to invest my time.

12:47 – 13:01
Carly
When I first started my business, I was very caught up in the work itself and was missing some of the other pieces that are so important when you own your own business, like marketing of this ability, business development.

13:02 – 13:11
Carly
So I would say, training myself in the beginning, too, um, kinda portion off my time to all of those things.

13:13 – 13:15
Brock
Time management? If I would sum it up.

13:16 – 13:16
Brock
Is that right?

13:17 – 13:18
Carly
Yeah.

13:18 – 13:28
Carly
I mean, I’ve always been good at managing the time that I have, but I would say, like, what an awareness of what I need to be assigning it to, that makes sense, or focusing on, right.

13:28 – 13:29
Brock
Prioritization, OK.

13:30 – 13:31
Brock
Ok, OK, cool.

13:33 – 13:37
Brock
So then you move you…move during COVID

13:37 – 13:46
Brock
and, if this isn’t too personal, did you know anybody in Northwest Arkansas, or you just, like, picked out of a map and just said, I’m just gonna jump down to Arkansas of all places?

13:47 – 13:52
Carly
Well, thankfully, I met my boyfriend to, we actually met in New York, but he’s from Little rock.

13:54 – 13:56
Carly
So, Bentonville was on his radar already.

13:57 – 14:03
Carly
And we were kind of looking around at different places that we could move to because both of our leases were coming up.

14:04 – 14:07
Carly
And New York City was completely shut down.

14:08 – 14:10
Carly
We didn’t know when it was going to re-open.

14:11 – 14:14
Carly
So, we knew everything was going to be on line no matter where we were.

14:17 – 14:24
Carly
So, yes, so, I knew him and he has family in Fayetteville and then also in Little Rock.

14:25 – 14:31
Brock
It’s not completely random, but a little bit random probably for you.

14:31 – 14:35
Brock
Well, we’re so happy to have you. I hope that you’ve been welcomed with open arms.

14:35 – 14:36
Carly
Yes, absolutely.

14:37 – 14:38
Brock
Awesome.

14:38 – 14:38
Brock
Alright.

14:38 – 14:44
Brock
Well, so then in regards to COVID. Let’s go back to how you, you know you moved here…What kind of you know pivots…

14:44 – 14:48
Brock
did you have to make and what you were doing in New York City versus what you had to do here?

14:48 – 14:56
Brock
Did you have any big changes that were just out of the ordinary or anything unique that you did? Or maybe you just pressed forward. What happened?

14:57 – 15:03
Carly
Well, I was fortunate that I was already set up to be online, and do most of my work remotely.

15:04 – 15:05
Carly
I like to travel.

15:05 – 15:09
Carly
I’ve always had multiple interests, so even before COVID, when I worked in New York.

15:09 – 15:13
Carly
I worked out of a co-working space and I did everything on my laptop.

15:14 – 15:18
Carly
I definitely have all of my physical samples, which I love, you know, my title, and my wallpaper and all of that.

15:20 – 15:25
Carly
I keep those in storage and don’t rent a physical office, and that’s on purpose.

15:26 – 15:31
Carly
So, so, it was nice when COVID hit that I was already comfortable working remotely.

15:32 – 15:41
Carly
Um, I would say the place I had to get out of my comfort zone was moving here and needing to meet people and make connections in the community.

15:42 – 15:43
Brock
Ok, that’s awesome.

15:45 – 15:50
Brock
I just spoke with Rachel Korpella who runs NWA Networking dot com.

15:51 – 15:52
Brock
Have you ran across that site yet?

15:53 – 15:54
Carly
I have not.

15:55 – 15:57
Brock
I’ll connect you with that, then you’ll, you’ll enjoy that.

15:58 – 16:00
Brock
So this kinda leads to my next question…

16:00 – 16:05
Brock
So someone’s jumping into this, you know, what are you doing right now to bring in customers?

16:06 – 16:07
Brock
You already mentioned networking.

16:07 – 16:11
Brock
Any particular tools that you’re using, or or methods that you’re using to bring a new business.

16:12 – 16:19
Carly
I would say the methods would be making personal connections, that’s where I’m most comfortable.

16:19 – 16:25
Carly
So but, you know, I’m joining different organizations like the Chamber of Commerce here, going to events.

16:26 – 16:29
Carly
I got on a committee. I’m already the chair of the subcommittee.

16:30 – 16:30
Carly
All right.

16:32 – 16:35
Carly
Yeah, I joined Lake Street House here in town.

16:36 – 16:41
Carly
And I just keep networking and meeting people going out for coffee and whatnot.

16:42 – 16:42
Brock
Ok.

16:44 – 16:46
Carly
So yeah, what was the second part of that question?

16:46 – 16:54
Brock
I was just, I guess I’ll just kinda lead this for you, like any online methods to bring in new business or you maybe are you running ads at all, or…

16:54 – 16:58
Brock
I mean, are you doing anything like, um, you know, budget wise, besides just your own personal effort?

16:59 – 17:09
Carly
Yeah, so I did take a print ad, because the Chamber of Commerce let me know about it for the business guide, for the local business guide.

17:14 – 17:17
Carly
I have been consciously investing more time in Instagram.

17:18 – 17:29
Carly
My website actually hired someone. I just hired a graduate from the UofA who’s also an interior designer and she’s going to be helping me with my marketing and visibility.

17:30 – 17:30
Brock
Ok.

17:30 – 17:38
Carly
She set me up a better pinterest account. You know, there’s a it takes a lot of work to set all these things up. Right? keep them going, So.

17:38 – 17:39
Carly
I recognize I needed help with that.

17:41 – 17:42
Carly
I’m excited about her help.

17:42 – 17:43
Brock
Ok.

17:43 – 17:43
Brock
Awesome.

17:43 – 17:45
Brock
That’s great, Awesome, awesome, All right.

17:45 – 17:55
Brock
Well, then, for anyone that might be listening that, you know, may be able to serve you, what’s a major challenge that you’re facing right now that someone listening might be able to say, hey, I can help.

17:57 – 18:04
Carly
One interesting challenge is the fact that I have my business in both New York and in Arkansas, OK.

18:04 – 18:09
Carly
So I’m looking for, sorry, if there’s much that we can hear.

18:12 – 18:12
Brock
Somebody.

18:12 – 18:15
Brock
But, Yeah, if you want to give it a minute, that’s fine.

18:15 – 18:16
Brock
I can, I can hear you fine.

18:16 – 18:17
Brock
If you want to continue.

18:18 – 18:23
Carly
Well, So, I was just saying that.

18:24 – 18:24
Carly
Could use…

18:26 – 18:27
Carly
Help from an account that’s very specific.

18:29 – 18:30
Carly
Has experience with business.

18:30 – 18:32
Carly
In New York, Yeah.

18:34 – 18:34
Brock
Yeah, Yeah.

18:36 – 18:37
Brock

So you can run both sides.

18:37 – 18:39
Brock
And, yeah, from 1 through 1 bookkeeping, yeah, yeah, yeah.

18:40 – 18:41
Carly
It’s interesting.

18:41 – 18:48
Carly
It’s, your designs actually, pretty complicated from a bookkeeping standpoints, considered a sales tax state.

18:50 – 18:58
Carly
And so having a business in both places, it’s just a little bit. It’s a little bit more than I anticipated.

18:59 – 19:03
Brock
Keeping up. OK, let me.

19:03 – 19:05
Brock
I’m going to pause you for two seconds.

19:07 – 19:09
Brock
This conference will now be recorded.

19:10 – 19:14
Brock
All right, now we’re back on had a tour going through, where Carly was at.

19:14 – 19:17
Brock
So we’re almost to the end here.

19:17 – 19:21
Brock
So you’re looking for a potentially a bookkeeper, very specific…

19:21 – 19:29
Brock
That could manage your books from an Arkansas perspective, but also in New York, because you’re trying to run business in both locations.

19:29 – 19:29
Brock
Ok.

19:29 – 19:30
Carly
Perfect.

19:30 – 19:31
Carly
That works with an interior designer.

19:31 – 19:32
Carly
That would be fantastic.

19:32 – 19:34
Brock
Oh, wow, you’re asking for a lot now.

19:36 – 19:37
Brock
That’s great.

19:37 – 19:45
Brock
Ok, well, hopefully, hopefully, word gets out, then, where do you see your business now, now that you are here in the next, let’s say, six months to a year?

19:46 – 19:49
Carly
Yeah, I see my business growing.

19:50 – 20:00
Carly
I mentioned that I just hired someone, and I’m really excited about working with her and, and taking on other outside contractors.

20:00 – 20:02
Carly
I might hire someone to do some marketing for me.

20:04 – 20:05
Carly
Some branding potentially.

20:06 – 20:20
Carly
And then, aside from doing what I love, which is remodels and and designing, I’m also thinking about a project that would be sort of an additional source of income.

20:21 – 20:23
Carly
Don’t know if this was part of your question…

20:24 – 20:26
Brock
It’s open, open book, you can talk about whatever you want.

20:27 – 20:44
Carly
Yeah, I’m wanting to put together these design kits that I can sell online, which would be a room design that’s done by me, but, you would purchase all of the information for what’s in the room, and you would implement it yourself.

20:45 – 20:53
Carly
You’re kind of like taking my design ideas and executing it, and applying it to your own space.

20:54 – 21:00
Carly
And it would be fully online, really easy for people to just grab it and go.

21:00 – 21:03
Carly
And what I like about it is that it’s fully virtual.

21:04 – 21:17
Carly
So, you know, everything that you would purchase would be purchased online, Um, you wouldn’t have to, go to, go to the store or interact with someone, you know, in person.

21:17 – 21:26
Carly
So I think COVID brought up this idea, and it’s something that I wanted to do, but I think that it would work, even, outside of the context of it.

21:28 – 21:28
Brock
That sounds cool.

21:29 – 21:29
Brock
Very cool.

21:31 – 21:31
Brock
All right.

21:31 – 21:34
Brock
Well just to kind of wrap up here, let’s pull this all together.

21:34 – 21:43
Brock
And this is I guess my one hardball question is you know what is your why? What is it that gets you up in the morning to do this… to motivate you?

21:44 – 21:54
Carly
No, I think my why is, one, having a positive impact on other people’s lives through what I do, mm, that’s, that’s really important to me.

21:56 – 22:05
Carly
And then, two, having that same positive impact on my own life, sort of crafting the life that I want to live through my business.

22:06 – 22:10
Carly
And, yeah, I think, it’s not easy to do, but.

22:13 – 22:15
Carly
It’s definitely worth the struggle.

22:15 – 22:21
Brock
Yeah, it’s not easy to do, especially with the plethora of other distractions that potentially could get in the way.

22:22 – 22:23
Brock
In the year that we live in.

22:23 – 22:25
Brock
Now that’s what I feel like. I feel like that’s my personal experience, anyways.

22:27 – 22:27
Carly
Yeah.

22:28 – 22:29
Brock
All right, fine.

22:29 – 22:36
Brock

In the interview we discussed how Carly’s pivot to operating fully online rescued her company from 2020, why she decided to open a new location in NWA in addition to NYC, and how and why to work with an interior designer before going directly to a builder.
